Hoag’s Pond is a charming, secluded wetland within a Pacific Coastal Forest that supports an abundance of native plants providing food and shelter for a wide variety of bird life. As you approach the pond, look for ducks, geese, and herons… and painted turtles. The trail around the pond is 0.4 miles. It is narrow but has little to no elevation gain. There are roots and stream crossings making it unsuitable for wheelchairs or strollers.
Due to limited parking and COVID-19 restrictions, we are limiting this initial field trip to eight participants. Driving instructions are available on Google Maps: Hoag’s Pond, Bellingham. The main parking strip on Broad Street has room for up to six cars, with one ADA-designated spot. You can also ride your bike or walk to the park via the inter-urban trail.
