EVENT CANCELED: Tennant Lake and Hovander Park

  • Tennant Lake Interpretive Cente (map)

Join us on this first field trip of spring on the public lands of Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife and Whatcom County Parks & Recreation. Swallows should be present over Tennant Lake along with other signs of the season. Expect to see migrant and resident waterfowl, resident passerines such as sparrows, chickadees and  juncos, plus woodpeckers and a few raptors. This relatively easy walk of about two miles on level trails is a great outing for beginning birders, but all are welcome. Do check on weather conditions and dress accordingly because spring can bring surprises. Waterproof footwear might be a good precaution.

Leaders: Pauline Sterin
