Semiahmoo’s beaches are still inviting at this time of year but please remember to dress for the weather because fall has definitely arrived here in the northwest corner. This is the season for exciting birding on the shores of Drayton Harbor and Boundary Bay. We can expect to see cormorants, grebes, loons, scoters, Harlequin Ducks and other sea ducks, such as newly arrived goldeneyes and Buffleheads. Eagles, herons, kingfishers and a few species of shorebirds should also be present on the spit as well as resident, and maybe a few late migrant songbirds.
Please join us for a rewarding morning of birding at Whatcom County’s only designated Important Bird Area.
Time: 9 AM - Noon: Meet at Semiahmoo County Park parking lot.
