Earth Day 2021 Virtual Environmental Film “Kiss the Ground”

NCAS is pleased to co-sponsor, along with a number of other community organizations, an Earth Day 2021 Environmental film called “Kiss the Ground” at the Pickford Film Center, April 16-25.  The film is an important film about regenerative agriculture. Regenerative agriculture is a farming technique that promises to help revive farmer prosperity, reduce flooding and drought, replenish fresh water sources, reduce fire hazards, reverse global warming, recreate regional access to nutrient-dense food, reduce toxic pesticides and fertilizers, reduce dead zones and water pollution, reverse extinction, and reconnect humanity and nature. The Pickford will stream the film on their platform from April 16-25 and viewing is free to all.  Here is a link to the Pickford website with all of the information:  KISS THE GROUND - EARTH DAY 2021 - Pickford Film Center

In addition, April 24th from 3:30-5pm, Sustainable Connections will host an audience and panel discussion of the film with local farmers, including Faith Van Du Putte and David Bill from Midnight’s Farm on Lopez Island The farmer panel will share their practices for addressing climate change. Sustainable Connection’s Food & Farming team will offer resources for sourcing local food, and connect you with the tools needed to take the best next step for you. You can RSVP for the film panel, and find out more information at Sustainable Connections.
