The parks and neighborhoods of Bellingham offer birders a wide array of unique habitats to explore. Join other birders each month to explore a new birding hotspot within walking, biking, or bussing distance from downtown Bellingham. This month, we will be exploring The Big Rock Garden woods and sculpture park. Located north of Lake Whatcom, this park has mature conifer habitat that houses wrens, chickadees, thrushes, kinglets, and more. The park is located near the railroad trail for convenient access by bike. We will meet on November 12 at 9:30 am at the Big Rock Park parking lot located at 2900 Sylvan Street. For those interested in biking, a group will leave from Cafe Velo downtown at 8:45 am. For accessibility information, see the Big Rock Garden Park entry on Birdability.org.
