Semiahmoo Spit

We would probably all agree that we are experiencing an unusual fall season. Come November, we usually are welcoming back more scaup, as well as newly arrived goldeneyes, buffleheads, red-throated loons, red-breasted mergansers, and possibly long-tailed ducks and brant to join the scoters and harlequins already present. Hopefully, this year will be the same. Please join us to enjoy the changing season and experience what is taking place on the eelgrass beds of Semiahmoo. There are always numbers of songbirds, shorebirds and possibly some surprises along the spit.

Semiahmoo is an Audubon designated Important Bird Area and a worthwhile birding experience. New and beginning birders are welcome. We will walk the beaches from the parking lot, a maximum of about two miles. Do watch the NCAS website for registrations to open and register early.
