Meet at the Semiahmoo County Park parking lot. Join the field trip leaders in viewing the winter waterfowl of Semiahmoo Bay and Drayton Harbor on display for your pleasure and excitement. Expect to see two or three species of scoters, harlequins, goldeneyes, buffleheads, hopefully some long-tailed ducks, brant, grebes, loons and cormorants. Bald eagles, great blue herons and belted kingfishers are usually present. And there are always a number of resident and wintering songbirds on the spit for variety at Whatcom County’s Important Bird Area.
