Introduction to Birding: How to identify Common Backyard Birds

North Cascades Audubon Society presents a 2-hour online class on introduction to backyard bird identification.  Instructors will show slides of birds in breeding and non-breeding plumage and discuss feeding, nesting and behavior of birds around Bellingham.

Course content will include discussion of best practices for bird watching and tips for buying binoculars. Learning objectives:

  • Understand features to consider if you buy binoculars.

  • Learn how to identify select backyard birds, and understand feeding, nesting and other behaviors.

  • Compare and contrast similar birds.
