Semiahmoo Spit

Meet at Semiahmoo County Park parking lot.

No fooling, April 1st should provide excellent birding as we welcome the spring season at Semiahmoo. Brant, probably three species of loons, cormorants, grebes, scoters, harlequins, scaup, mergansers, harlequins, goldeneyes and buffleheads will still be present. Hopefully, we should also be able to locate a few species of migrant shorebirds as well as raptors and passerines along the shorelines or overhead.

Please join us on the beaches of Semiahmoo Bay and Drayton Harbor for what we expect to be a memorable morning of birding the marine habitats along the spit. Walking on Semiahmoo is relatively easy and usually limited to about two miles maximum. This trip a good place to get a start learning the marine bird of our area but certainly can be rewarding for the more experienced birder also.
