Meet at the museum parking lot at Semiahmoo Park.
Every fall, thousands of shorebirds stop to forage and rest along Boundary Bay during their long migrations down to Central and South America. During afternoon high tides in September and October, many roost along Semiahmoo Spit's shores. Join host Stephen Chase and witness this incredible spectacle. You'll learn about the region's role in the autumn shorebird migration corridor and receive helpful pointers in identifying the many characters in this challenging, but rewarding, family of birds. We'll also scan for newly arrived wintering loons, grebes, and sea ducks.
