The parks and neighborhoods of Bellingham offer birders a wide array of unique habitats to explore. Join other birders each month to explore a new birding hotspot within walking, biking, or bussing distance from downtown Bellingham. This month, we will be exploring Whatcom Creek, starting at Waypoint Park and walking up the creek along the Whatcom Creek Trail. The Whatcom Creek riparian corridor offers habitat for a diverse array of birds right in the heart of downtown. Kinglets, spring migrants, shorebirds, waterfowl and seabirds can all be found by walking upstream from Bellingham Bay. We will meet at 10:00 am at Waypoint Park, parking is located along the street or in the lot across the street on Granary Ave. For those interested in biking or bussing, find resources at https://www.whatcomsmarttrips.org/how-to. For accessibility information, see the Whatcom Creek Corridor entry on Birdability.org
